We are consistently impressed and inspired by the work of our grantee and partner schools, educators, students and community members who have gone above and beyond in fostering academic growth and achievement across the St. Louis region.

For the second consecutive year, Maplewood-Richmond Heights Elementary earned the award for Proficiency Outpacing the State Average in ELA. Sixty-six percent of students are proficient or advanced in English Language Arts, with strong outcomes across student groups, including Black students and students qualifying for direct certification. The school’s sustained success reflects strong instructional systems, consistent execution, and a commitment to ensuring students achieve at high levels over time.

The school is also demonstrating strong outcomes across student groups, including Black students and students qualifying for direct certification. These results reflect disciplined execution, strong instructional leadership, and a commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes for all students.

The Leadership School earned this year’s Most Growth in Reading award after posting one of the strongest positive growth scores in the state. The Leadership School continues to demonstrate what is possible when systems and instructional practice align around student success.

Ninety-two percent of staff participated in the survey, reflecting a culture built on trust, responsiveness, and shared investment in the school community. The award recognizes leadership that listens, responds, and intentionally builds a workplace where educators feel valued and supported.

Ninety-two percent of staff participated in the survey, reflecting a culture built on trust, responsiveness, and shared investment in the school community. The award recognizes leadership that listens, responds, and intentionally builds a workplace where educators feel valued and supported.
David Lemkemeier, Board Chair of KIPP St. Louis, received this year’s Board Member of Excellence Award for his steady leadership, thoughtful governance, and commitment to accountability in education. Most recently, he helped lead the search process for KIPP St. Louis’ new CEO, supporting leadership continuity and long-term organizational strength. His leadership reflects the important role strong governance plays in ensuring schools continue improving outcomes for students and families.
Board Member of Excellence

BELIEVE Academy’s progress reflects aligned leadership, consistent execution, and a school-wide commitment to building systems that drive long-term student success.

Through her participation in the Parent Education and Advocacy Academy (PEAA), she implemented consistent literacy practices at home, creating meaningful opportunities for her children to strengthen their reading skills and confidence. Parent Leadership Award | Bridge 2 Hope

Through her participation in the Parent Education and Advocacy Academy (PEAA), she implemented consistent literacy practices at home, creating meaningful opportunities for her children to strengthen their reading skills and confidence. Her leadership demonstrates the powerful role families play in student achievement.
Makiah Williams, a student at Kairos, was named Upperclassman of Excellence. for her determination, adaptability, and commitment to building a strong future pathway. Through internships, dual enrollment coursework, and a radiologic technology apprenticeship with SSM Health, Makiah explored multiple career pathways before discovering a passion for healthcare. Her willingness to seek support, build relationships, and remain focused on her goals reflects both resilience and leadership.
Next Prep Upperclassman of Excellence
