Overview

We invest in districts, schools, educators, parents, nonprofits, community and other stakeholders, to accelerate the rate of improvement and increase the percentage of children attending world-class schools in St. Louis.

The Emerson Early Literacy Challenge is a transformative initiative, powered by a $1 million investment from Emerson, aimed at closing literacy gaps for children in St. Louis. Focused on ensuring reading proficiency by 3rd grade, the challenge invites 3-4 Local Education Agencies (LEAs) to participate in a two-year learning experience, providing up to $270,000 in funding and expert guidance. By connecting LEAs with cutting-edge literacy research and best practices, the initiative empowers schools to implement proven strategies that drive student success.
