In her career across the education sector, Malauna has consistently demonstrated a deep commitment to equity, access, and excellence for all learners. Her work spans early childhood, K–12, and higher education, with a track record of designing and leading initiatives that improve systems and elevate outcomes for students, families, and communities.
In her most recent role at Wonderschool, Malauna served as Program Manager and Growth & Partnership Consultant for the Missouri territory. She supported early childhood education providers in becoming licensed child care providers and building sustainable businesses. Through strong collaboration with state agencies and community leaders, she helped providers navigate complex systems, access critical resources, and expand the availability of quality early learning options across the state.
Malauna holds a B.S. in Psychology with a minor in Sociology from Southern Illinois University Edwardsville, where she founded the Women Exceeding Expectations Chapter of the National Association of Colored Women’s Clubs, Inc.—now the largest chapter in Illinois. She also holds an M.Ed. in Higher Education from the University of Missouri–St. Louis.
